The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery is looking for a candidate to perform research with NOVAJoint in collaboration with the PI(s) in the Hip and Knee division of Adult Reconstruction. This candidate will work directly with a PI, reporting to the ARPA-H NOVAJoint Task Manager and the Director of Research Administration. This position is subjected to grant funding.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates in the preparation of manuscripts for publication and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in and tracks the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study designs as appropriate.
- Responsible for the development of forms, questionnaires, and the application of research techniques; assists in writing instructional procedure manuals for study progress, data collection and coding; reviews journals, abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies to aid in the planning of new studies
- In conjunction with the PI, designs, implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; identifies problems and/or inconsistencies and monitors participant's progress to include documentation and reporting of adverse events; resolves IRB/protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate
- Responsible to create, maintain and enter data in NOVAJoint REDCap database
- Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data in conjunction with PI(s) as appropriate; prepares oral or written presentations or reports and analyses setting forth progress trends and provides recommendations or conclusions of the same. Works with the program statistician in the development of study design, power analysis and processing of study data, and is responsible for the incorporation of statistical methodology and results in division manuscripts.
- Prepares IRB submissions
- Attends NOVAJoint meetings
- Manages and participates in research teams related to hip and knee arthroplasty in the division of adult reconstruction
- Performs other duties incidental to the work described above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three years' related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience in clinical research preferred
- Experience with Epic and REDCap
