This is an on-site opportunity located in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Seeking a candidate with knowledge in:

- Numerical Modeling Expertise: Demonstrated foundation in numerical modeling with a focus on any kind of fluid dynamics.

- Software Proficiency: familiarity with various modeling and simulation software, such as OpenFOAM, StarCCM+, ANSYS, or others. Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C++, FORTRAN, MATLAB, Python) and Linux-based systems is preferred.

Necessary skills:

- CFD Software Proficiency: Experience with leading CFD tools like OpenFOAM, StarCCM+, ANSYS Fluent, or similar software. Ability to set up, run, and analyze simulations.

- Numerical Modeling: Understanding of numerical techniques for solving fluid dynamics problems, including discretization methods, mesh generation, and solution algorithms.

- Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming languages for custom simulations, automation, and data analysis.

- HPC/Terminal Skills: Demonstration of using High Performance Computing systems or experience using a terminal is good (Bash, Csh, Linux, etc.)

Necessary Abilities:

- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues in simulations, troubleshoot problems, and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

- Continuous Learning: Openness to learning new techniques, tools, and methodologies in the field in CFD and related areas.

- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements, incorporate feedback, and adjust methodologies as needed.

- Organizational Ability: Managing time and resources efficiently to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate can:

  • Demonstrate either a fluid mechanics and/or numerical modeling background at either the Bachelors or Masters level.
  • Some demonstration of general numerical modeling concepts and fluid mechanics.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in using one or more various modeling and simulation software and/or numerical methods.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, ensuring they can manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
  • Exhibit a strong problem-solving ability, with a knack for identifying root causes of technical issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Be adaptable to new software, techniques, and methodologies quickly and effectively.
  • Have the ability to contribute positively to team dynamics, maintain a continuous learning mindset, and strive for professional development.
