Job Title: Research Scientist IV Grade: 27 Salary: $50,904.50 - $ 60,472 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking qualified candidate to fill a part-time (50% of full time effort) Research Scientist IV position in the Division of Molecular Therapeutics. The RS IV will contribute to cutting-edge research in Neuroscience. This position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of faculty, researchers, and graduate students, with a focus on rodent electrophysiology. The RS IV will be responsible for leading and contributing to innovative research projects with the opportunity for professional growth. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and collaborate on research projects in Neuroscience.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze experimental studies, with a focus on rodent electrophysiology.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Supervise and mentor junior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students.
  • Foster collaboration by working closely with other departments and research centers.
  • Manage laboratory operations, including maintaining protocols, ensuring data integrity, and overseeing compliance with institutional policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, or Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in rodent electrophysiology.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Proven ability to lead research teams and mentor junior researchers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
