Responsibilities

Conduct research into fundamental computer and information science as theorists, designers, or inventors. Develop solutions to problems in the field of computer hardware and software.

Conduct logical analyses of business, scientific, engineering, and other technical problems, formulating mathematical models of problems for solution by computers. Evaluate project plans and proposals to assess feasibility issues. Participate in multidisciplinary projects in areas such as virtual reality, human-computer interaction, or robotics. Lead the development of perception, deep-learning AI and robotics techniques and software for robotic applications. Publish research at top Robotics, Perception and AI conferences. Integrate new perception and AI techniques into large-scale research demonstrations of robotic manipulation capabilities for manufacturing and other applications. Communicate ideas, problems, and results within and outside Autodesk Research. Collaborate with researchers and developers in Autodesk Research and academic/industry partners.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a software/robotics engineering-related occupation.

Special Requirements

Position requires at least three (3) years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Utilize knowledge of Software Design Methodologies to design and develop advanced software systems.
  • Utilize knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, C# and Python to build large software stacks for robotics, signal processing and sensing applications.
  • Utilize knowledge of microcontrollers and digital signal processors to integrate sensing into software architectures.

Position requires at least one (1) academic semester of graduate-level coursework or some experience in each of the following skills:

  • Utilize knowledge of Robotics for industrial automation tasks such as bin picking, product assembly.
  • Utilize knowledge of AI and Computer Vision to enable perception for robot manipulation tasks and scene understanding for automating manufacturing applications.
  • Utilize knowledge of Deep Learning and other AI techniques to design systems for object detection, pose estimation, grasp estimation for bin picking and adaptive robotic assembly applications.
  • Utilize knowledge of PyTorch and Tensorflow to design and develop deep neural networks for robotics perception.
  • Utilize knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes to train compute-hungry AI models.
  • Utilize knowledge of edge computing for building and deploying advanced sensing and autonomy behaviors on robotic systems.

Salary Transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $172,800 - $200,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
