Job Title: Research Technician

Location: 6693 90th Street South, Sabin, MN 56580 United States

Schedule: M-F 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Position Purpose and Major Responsibilities:

The Research Technician supports operations in the Soybean Breeding program in collaboration with local breeding and agronomy teams. The position is based in Sabin, MN.

• Performs activities in the greenhouse and field environments including crossing blocks, planting, harvesting, seed processing, and maintenance of seed inventories.
• Collects data at nurseries and field trials.
• Performs activities in the laboratory including collecting leaf samples, manipulation of plant tissues, and setting up experiments according to established protocols.
• Maintains the work environment organized and cleaned.
• Comply with Safety, QMS and Stewardship directives, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma. Preferred Associate's/Technical degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, or related fields.
• Experience working in the field and greenhouse is desired.
• Self-sufficient in conducting assigned activities.
• Skilled on Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel domestically.
