The services we provide don't just impact the individual child, they create positive ripple effects within their immediate family, neighborhood, community, and world by providing an opportunity to thrive.About the position:The ideal person for the position of Supervised Independent Living Program (SILP) Resident Advisor II enjoys working with youth of all ages. They must have the ability to teach and the patience to handle a wide range of behaviors within a given day. The person will need to have the physical ability to be very active and the interest to be involved in keeping youth active. This person will have the skill to work as a team member and to coordinate their actions with others. They must have a strong commitment to ensuring the safety of youth and put their own needs after youth needs are met. They must be flexible in scheduling and have the ability to communicate with others.Job Functions:Works directly with clients to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with individual service plans, the program plan, and applicable licensing/accreditation standards; provides therapeutic services in accordance with agency mission, residential treatment philosophy and program goals.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in social services or related field preferred or will consider high school diploma with experience working with children and youth in such settings as residential, group homes, family services, juvenile justice, foster care, and special education.Child care skills.Dependability.Ability to work objectively with disturbed children.Ability and judgment to work independently.Demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served.Ability to handle job-related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.Must be at least 25 years of age to meet DCFS requirements.Ability to remain awake and alert while on shift; vision, hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective communication of information.Physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress.Valid driver's license and insurance card and ability to transport self and clients to various locations.Ability to pass DCFS driving requirements.Ability to physically move youth items, some heavy items to apartments (ie.
