Salary: $1,500.00 AnnuallyLocation : All High Schools, VAJob Type: Full Time TemporaryJob Number: 03450Department: Specialty Center CoordinatorOpening Date: 02/21/2025 DescriptionGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for supervising students, facilitating programs, and supporting the Resident Coordinators in their duties. The Resident Assistant will be required to reside in the student dorm from July 10 - July 19, 2025.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:(These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)
  • Support the resident coordinators.
  • Supervision of students from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each evening and from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. each morning.
  • On call responsibility for hours between 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Assist with the facilitation of special programs and evening activities.
Qualifications: KSA's, EducationKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to: provide adult supervision to high school age students participating in the Governor's School; maintain an interest in the positive improvement and development of students; maintain proper discipline; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required: Rising college level Junior. Preferred: Rising College level Senior. Terms of Employment LOCATION: Randolph Macon CollegePAYGRADE: Includes Room & Board.FLSA STATUS: Exempt Physical requirements and DisclaimerMust have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees, students and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact. Physical capability to use and operate effectively various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Work is typically performed in a school setting including; classroom, gym, cafeteria, auditorium and recreational areas. Frequent walking, standing, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Occasional travel with students on field trips may be required. Occasional movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required. Regular instruction to special needs children may be necessary. Daily personal and close contact with students to provide classroom management and learning environment support is required.Regular contact with other staff members and parents is required.
