RESIDENT SERVICES TRAINING MANAGER

Starting Salary: $76,700 annually

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a creative, engaging, and caring professional to provide onboarding training and site support for Resident Services Staff working with a mix of families, single Transition-Age Youth (TAY), adults, and seniors formerly experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. Supervised by the Director of Resident Services and working in conjunction with Resident Services Managers and other Program Directors, the Resident Services Training Manager (RSTM) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering trainings to Resident Services Staff. This includes training in HomeRise's Case Management Model, our electronic database charting system PASS, assessment tools, crisis response curriculum, and all onboarding and required trainings to support new and current staff in performing the duties of their job description. The RSTM will often collaborate with other departments to refine manuals, tools, and workflows. This role will require travel across HomeRise RSD sites in San Francisco (including Treasure Island). HomeRise is a Housing First agency, and all services are provided from a harm reduction framework through a social justice lens.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Training

  • Onboard, through coaching and mentorship of newly hired Resident Services Staff.
  • Develop and provide comprehensive training on HomeRise's electronic charting system PASS.
  • Develop and provide training on housing retention and resource connection services.
  • Develop and provide training on essential case management components, such as action plans, activities/groups focused on community building, skill building, and resident empowerment and self-sufficiency utilizing harm reduction principles.
  • Develop and provide training on crisis intervention, conflict resolution and de-escalation services to RSD staff and residents.
  • Train staff on documentation requirements per agency policy.

Collaboration

  • Partner with RSMs and PDs on employee onboarding progress; contribute to 90-day evaluations of new employees; make recommendations about forward progress, or additional training on an individual basis.
  • Participate in interview panels, meetings, and organizational initiatives as requested.
  • Partner with RSD leadership staff to assess needs, develop, create, and coordinate new and on-going training programs.
  • Provide coverage for RSM staff when needed.
  • Develop and facilitate activities and groups for community building and empowerment.
  • Develop and provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation services.
  • Partner with department leaders to create, revise, and update departmental policy and procedure in RSD manual.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Location: Multiple Sites in San Francisco, CA
  • Status: Full-Time / Exempt
  • Schedule: Generally, Monday thru Friday 9 am – 5 pm
  • Reports to: Director of Resident Services

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of employment experience in the provision of social services, preferably in a supportive housing environment, working with individuals experiencing homelessness and/or those experiencing substance use, mental health issues, and/or chronic medical issues.
  • One year formal or two years informal supervision experience including: hiring, training, and coaching staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, teach, train, and give feedback to others.
  • Ability to create training manuals/handbooks for onboarding and continued staff development.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with a proven track record providing trainings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail; strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide effective services to diverse populations.
  • Excellent computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Salesforce or other cloud based database).
  • Experience in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation.
  • Experience in organizing groups, group facilitation, and group development.
  • Familiarity with community resources and service programs.
  • Strong commitment to social justice and advocacy.
  • Desired qualification: Fluency in Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese/Russian a plus.
