JOB SUMMARY The Residential Aides are responsible for monitoring the residents and the operation of the facility during the hours of his/her shift. They must be able to work flexible hours. JOB DUTIES

- Must be completely familiar with all rules of the program.
- Maintains sign-in/sign-out sheets.
- Maintains activities log with NA/AA meetings, van, etc.
- Maintains the communication book.
- Responsible for answering the phone, relaying calls, and taking massages.
- Responsible for mail distribution.
- Inspects and makes sure that all work details assigned to the residents are completed.
- Responsible for the security of the program.
- Monitors and documents client behavior.
- Responsible for all incidents concerning resident problems being reported promptly.
- Promptly reports to the house manager any problem concerning the van, maintenance, supplies or any household problems.
- Interface with residents, referring their problems to the proper person resulting in the resident getting the assistance they need.
- Attend mandatory monthly supervisory meetings.
- Attend mandatory monthly in-service trainings.
- Responsible for urine testing/breathalyzers and recording of tests and results.
- Monitors and documents resident's medication.
- Reports all repairs and wear & tear to House Manager.
- Responsible for weekly inspection of rooms.
- Must be completely familiar with policy and procedures of the program.
- Must be able to perform intake and orientation to the program for new clients.
- Must be willing to learn client-oriented system of care.
- Serves as liaison between the residents and House Managers.
- Oversees periodic special work details.
- Serves as a role model.
- Performs crisis intervention when necessary.
- Responsible for the arrangement of transportation of residents to meetings, hospitals, etc. and if need be, may be asked to drive.
- Must perform tasks delegated by the immediate supervisor within the scope of the policy and procedure manual.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's license If in recovery, a minimum of two years clean EXPERIENCE: Thorough knowledge of 12-Step program, AA, NA, and the biopsychosocial model of substance abuse/dependence Ability to speak, read, and write English Must be able to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision Good interpersonal skills are required Must maintain a professional demeanor and perform duties effectively in stressful/emergency situations Must be able to maintain objectivity and deal diplomatically with clients and family members.
