This position requires applicants to successfully complete a background check through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services when it supports the mandate under Section 424-a of the Social Services Law for legally authorized agencies to inquire of the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) as to the existence of any indicated reports of child abuse and maltreatment against an applicant prior to employment, certification, or licensure in the childcare field. All background checks will be conducted and reviewed in accordance with applicable federal, state and local law. Compensation Range: $21/hr - $24/hr commensurate with experienceOverview: The Residential Aide Supervisor (RAS) ensures the wellbeing and safety of the program's families with children during their shifts. The RA provides crisis intervention as needed to maintain safety and security. This position will work onsite at the Best Western Plus Hotel designed to be a safe space for migrant families with children. The RAS works with clinical and program staff on the health and wellness of the program, of 8am to 4pm, 4pm to 12am, and 12am-8am. Theschedule operates 7days a week, and all holidaysas needed.The RAS provides crisis intervention as needed to maintain hotel stability.Responsibilities:
  • Supervise between 10 and 15 Residential Aides (RA).
  • Create RA staff schedules to ensure there is 24-hour facility coverage.
  • Train staff in all programmatic policies and procedures
  • Manage staff hiring, recommendations for termination, and progressive disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate and approve staff hours for accurate payroll processing
  • Conduct bi-weekly staff supervision with (RA)
  • Disseminate and interpret policies and procedures to RA staff.
  • Investigate and report issues, using incident report approved system(s)
  • Collaborate with the clinical staff on resident behavior as well as the care of those on the fragile list.
  • Update rosters to ensure census, vacancies and household composition are accurate.
  • Complete shift report during work hours.
  • Ensure RAs are accessible to the HW's Employee Handbook.
Other functions that may be required with this position include:
  • Conduct periodic facility walk-throughs during a shift.
  • Ensure all staff always provide excellent customer service and confidentiality.
  • Conduct Quarterly and Annual Performance reviews on (RA) in a timely manner and in accordance with established company standards.
  • Ensure all staff employ Housing Works community values.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED and at least three years of work experience as a Residential Aide or in a social services organization.
Qualifications:
  • Dependable & flexible time availability as well as possessing Excellent internal and external customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and offer flexibility regarding scheduling work time.
Essential Physical Demands/ Working Conditions
  • Frequently required to lift 20lbs. with proper assistance and tools.
  • Frequently required to articulate policy, reports or evaluations to staff, residents and vendors
  • Frequently required to operate office equipment and various technological devices
  • Occasionally to Frequently expected to de-escalate tense, even hostile, client situations
  • RAS presence required in a residence 100% of time.
