Job Location : Waller,TX, USA
The Applications team and is responsible for leading the residential Applications Team. This team will provide front line application engineering support to help expand the use of Daikin 1ph products in the North American HVAC marketplace. Core functions include project level support to the Daikin Business Unit sales team, Motili and our network of manufacturer Reps/Distributors. In addition, to execute tactics to strengthen the spec-in ratio and conversion of all appropriate projects to Daikin products and technologies.
May include:
* Works with department and sales leadership to ensure alignment with expectations, goals, vision?and priorities
* Accountable for implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for short-term results and midterm planning for the department
* Promotes an effective team-oriented atmosphere and trains and mentors new and existing staff
* Proactively & independently liaise with other teams (e.g. HR, Product Marketing, Sales Tools Development, Technical training) when their support and cooperation is required to complete tasks and helps optimize interdepartmental communication and working processes
* Provide and administer project level application support to Daikin sales staff and our network of Daikin Manufacturer Reps & Distributors in the North American market
* Organize and chair team meetings when specific tasks require team co-ordination
* Oversee the creation of technical documentation and presentations for use by staff & sales partners
* Provide technical presentations in the field to our sales partners
* Train the trainer: Provide insight & guidance to the application team, tasked with presenting application materials
* Manage and delegate tasks that are varied and complex.
* Adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet specialized needs.
* Work on and develop non-routine tasks.
* Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks
* Utilize sales tools to support Distributors, Manufacturers Representatives, Contractors & Engineers regarding design & application of equipment in the commercial market
* Specification Support: Develop instruction & guidelines to create better Daikin specs for Reps & Engineers
* Competitor conversion and comparison skills to maximize Daikin's opportunities for all projects
* Codes & Standards Support: Provide high level support and understanding for applicable national and local codes and standards
* Provide input & guidance to marketing team for the creation of Technical Tools / Selection Guides
* Pro-actively represent Daikin at networking events and seminars
* Assist in project development by providing alternate equipment selections and options
* Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs
* Ensures work is aligned with the managers expectations, goals, and vision
* Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
* Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision
* Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals

* Knowledge of HVAC products, load calculations, building controls, duct design and installation practices
* Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage and respond to technical questions
* Must have computer proficiency - Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Ability to create and develop company-wide documents, tools, practices, and processes
* Ability to interact effectively and provide information to customers, consultants, and internal personnel, including senior management, Daikin Corporate Personnel

Experience:
10 plus years of HVAC industry experience
Previous team leader/managerial experience is beneficial
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, relevant industry experience
