Salary: $29.02 - $35.25 Hourly Location : Duluth, MN Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Job Number: 24-201/776-01 Department: Assessor's Opening Date: 12/26/2024 Closing Date: 1/9/2025 11:59 PM Central Kind of Work Technical work involving the appraisal of residential property in St. Louis County. The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2025. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $29.02 - $41.01 per hour. This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME. Distinguishing Features of Work An employee in this entry level appraiser class is responsible for making routine appraisals of residential and agricultural properties in St. Louis County. Duties include: conducting inspections of property to determine conditions, improvements, measurements and locations; researching property descriptions, deeds and other documents; reviewing information with property owners and others to assess accuracy of information; making appraisals based on available information. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff. Work Environment These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. OCCASIONAL : Carry-push/pull while moving 11 to 20 pounds; Climb stairs; Headset; Works with others; Customer/Public contact; and exposure to slippery surfaces. RARE : Carry-push/pull while moving 21 to 100 pounds; Crouch/Squat; Kneel; Stoop/Bend; Twist (waist); Clients with Behavioral Challenges; and Extended day. Selection Process MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail): Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree. Possession of a valid driver's license. RATING SYSTEM: Supplemental Questions will be 100% of the scoring process: Points will be awarded based on the applicants answers to supplemental questions 6-11.
