RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER TRAINEE - State of Illinois : Job Details

Under immediate supervision, for a period of three (3) to eighteen (18) months, participates in a trainee program designed to prepare trainees to work effectively with students with visually impaired and/or multiple disabilities attending Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI). Successfully completes assignments in the care and training of ISVI students under close supervision. Participates in job orientation which introduces and acquaints the trainee with the philosophy, policies, objectives, and programs of the Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) and ISVI, the total educational and social programs and the residential units, the personnel system and conditions of employment, the kind and nature of supportive services to students, and the physical layout of campus.
