Residential Class B Driver - LRS : Job Details

Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Residential Driver to join our team in Atkinson, IL. The Residential Driver is responsible for servicing assigned routes by collecting and transporting waste or recyclable materials to designated disposal sites or recycling facilities. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and handling materials that may have strong odors. Work hours and physical demands may vary depending on the route and location.

Reports To:Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Operate trucks safely and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.

• Collect and transport waste or recycling materials from customers on assigned routes, ensuring proper disposal at designated facilities.

• Return trash and recycling receptacles neatly to their designated areas.

• Clean up any waste spills or overflows encountered during collection.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date route sheets and driver log sheets.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting findings as required.

• Interact professionally and courteously with both internal and external customers.

• Keep the truck body and packer blade clean and in proper working condition.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Skills

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

• Minimum age requirement: 21 years.

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or higher.

• Valid DOT medical card (or must obtain prior to hire).

• Successful completion of all pre-employment testing requirements.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including understanding traffic signs, safety protocols, and instructions.

Physical Demands Work Environment

• Frequent sitting, with occasional standing and walking.

• Use of hands for handling, controlling, or feeling objects and tools.

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

• Regular exposure to residential and commercial waste materials.

• Potential exposure to high-traffic environments while outside the vehicle.
