Job Responsibilities of the Residential Electrical Estimator:
- Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential and multifamily electrical projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
- Perform site visits to gather essential information, assess project conditions, and identify potential challenges.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals and requirements.
- Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate responses, and incorporate them into the overall estimate.
- Update and maintain cost databases with current pricing information, labor rates, and industry trends.
- Create comprehensive bid proposals and present them to clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Track project costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and revisions to estimates as necessary.
- Ensure all estimates and bids comply with company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, advancements in technology, and changes in building codes and regulations
Requirements and Qualifications of the Residential Estimator:
- At least 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in the residential electrical field
- Experience using estimating software such as ProEst and McCormick and familiarity with CAD and Bluebeam
