Construction Superintendent (Onsite Supervision)Job Type: 1099 contract
Location: Santa Rosa Beach, FL (within 30 minutes preferred)
Pay Range: $1,200-$1,400 per week (
includes travel, gas, per diem, etc.)Requirement: Must have a smart phone (PC is highly recommended as well). Must have, or be willing to obtain, proper WC insurance.
Position Mission: The mission of the Superintendent is to effectively oversee the execution of a project through completion, while enforcing safety guidelines, quality standards, and project schedule.
Superintendent Duties:- Provide daily onsite management of subcontractors and trades workers
- Includes providing a daily report with a minimum of 10 photos, accurate entry of the weather log, and providing a 5-day forecast to the Project Manager/Project Executive
- Manage, implement, and oversee all site safety facets as required by OSHA and other company policies
- Procure materials, pricing, and vendors; ensure all deliveries are inspected
- Includes sending an email with photo documentation of each delivery with the Bill of Lading to Project Manager/Project Executive
- Effectively communicate and interact with home office, subcontractors, and clients via phone, in-person, and email correspondence
- Leverage technology to stay connected to involved parties
- Ensure all work conforms to the plans, specifications, and schedule
- Includes daily monitoring of quality; if there are quality issues at the start of a scope you should send an email with photo documentation to the trade partner and Project team notating deficiencies and expectations
- Provide daily oversight of project schedule development, updates, enforcement, and adherence. Provide written documentation following phone conversations with a minimum communication of 30 days, 2 weeks, 1 week, and 48 hours from mobilizing to site. The Project Manager/Project Executive shall be included on each correspondence
- Willingness to self-perform and execute certain tasks, including but not limited to:
- Installing equipment
- Rough carpentry
- Demolition
- Metal framing
- Drywall patch and repair
- Hang doors and set frames
- Accessories install
- Coordinate and communicate with applicable inspection officials, engineers, testing agencies and design professionals
- Manage punch list completion and closeout
Additional Requirements:- Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent or similar role
- Experience in renovations and ground-up projects
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Be transparent about your availability and follow the Companys procedure for requesting PTO when you intend to be away from work.
- Maintain strong communication by conducting regular check-ins with your manager and co-workers.
- Maintain reliable internet, phone, and networking capabilities with appropriate speed to supply the bandwidth needed to perform the job efficiently.
- Ensure your webcam and audio is always properly working and on during virtual meetings (mute audio when you are not speaking).
- Familiarity with BuilderTrend is a plus
