Residential WorkerCompany: Real House, Inc.Status: Full Time Location: 176 Harding Highway, Newfield, New Jersey 08344Reports to: Program Manager, Elaine RomeroGENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: The Residential Worker is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day function in the house. This includes securing the well-being and safety of the residents. Responsibilities also include keeping up with maintenance and repairs of the house, the vehicle, appliances and equipment. The Residential Worker reports directly to Program Manager.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Track unusual and major incidents
- Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate
- Responsible for being on-call
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Providing support and guidance to the individuals in the house to ensure the following:
- That the house, the appliances, the vehicles and the equipment are safe, operational and in good working order.
- That the fundamental rights of each adult in the house are protected
- Residential Workers are bound by an 8 hour shift. The following are the specific duties within a job typical X-hour shift. Hours and duties may vary depending upon specific circumstances and will be handwritten and initialed into this employment agreement.
- Responsible for overseeing all cleaning duties by clients.
- Responsible for cleaning anything that have not been completed by the clients.
- 3pm-11pm
- Supervising and assisting the individuals in the house with menus, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, laundry and other activities of daily living.
- Planning and coordinating appropriate leisure, social and daily living activities in the residence and in the community. This includes transporting the individuals to and from their destinations. These activities also include shopping tri. s and medical, dental and mental health appointments.
- Assuming responsibility for the individuals in the house during the day when they are unable to attend the day program (e.g. for illness, inclement weather, etc.). The supervisor will make every effort to arrange coverage, however, the final responsibility rests on the residential staff.
Meeting deadlines and completing all necessary paperwork. This includes quarterly reports, monthly reports, fire drill records, attendance records, weight charts, house receipts, daily log book, etc. The Residential Worker shall be trained by Real House, Inc.'s APN and will carry out the duties of Medication Technician 11pm-7amDuring the hours of 11pm-7am, the House Manager will be offered adequate sleeping facilities by Real House, Inc.
7am-3pm(7am-9am) Responsibilities include providing assistance to the extent necessary for each of the individuals in the home to prepare for their day. That includes assisting with all personal hygiene tasks, dressing, preparing breakfast and cleaning up afterwards. (9am-3pm) During this shift the House Manager is considered on call , however remaining on the premises is typically not necessary. Being on call requires that you leave information with your supervisor as to where you may be reached.QUALIFICATIONS:Required and Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Good oral and written English skills.
- If an individual is in recovery, five-six years of sustained recovery is required.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based application.
- Ability to answer telephone calls in a professional manner and assists callers
- The Residential Worker must be at least 25 years
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Occasionally required to stand and walk.
Certificates and Licenses:
- CPR and First Aid
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to hire.
