- 1+ years of experience in a school/teaching environment

- Strong history of Developing IEP Goals and plans.
- Previous experience within Special needs or Early Childhood Education
- Masters or Doctorate Degree
Job Description/ Day to Day Responsibilities
- Teaches learning disabled students and develops for each student realistic long and short team goals
- Assesses the needs of each student in the Resource Program in order to provide appropriate individual programs of instruction
- Evaluates students who have been referred for possible special education placement
- Creates and maintains an effective learning environment in which a positive self-image and self-help actives are stressed
- Arranges with staff for mainstreaming of students into regular classes for the instruction and socialization in areas where students can meet success
- Provides instruction throughout pullout, push in and/or the collaboration needed
- Evaluates students' performances, keeps up to date records of individuals students' progress, recommends revision of the IEP
- Coordinates and consults with administrators, general education teachers, parents, and support staff regarding instructional planning for all students in the school/ Directs instructional aides
- Integrates the core curriculum program of the school into the resource classroom
- Participates in IEP meetings
- Develops IEP goals and objectives
