  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Provide own transportation
  • Must maintain valid Florida driver's license and maintain a good driving record showing no DUI convictions
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening
  • ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Physical requirements may increase based on specific job requirements
  • Training in parenting skills and/or child development
  • Knowledge of the school system
  • Bilingual
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans
  • Knowledge of outside agencies such as APD, VR, Social Security
  • PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Makes home visits as requested by schools through Brief Service Referral (BSR).
  • Works cooperatively with schools and staff to meet needs of students with disabilities and their families
  • Provides services at schools as assigned by Principal or designee.
  • Visits schools to determine needs of students.
  • Visits families to determine needs of the families (i.e., clothing, food, medical services, agency supports, etc.)
  • Maintains close coordination with school personnel, outside agencies, community resources, referral services to families of students with disabilities
  • Prepares reports (as required) and maintains records.
  • Coordinates ESE Parent Advisory Activities
  • District representative on the Inter Agency Council
  • Coordinates Department of Education Parent Survey
  • Attends IEP meetings as needed
