MISSION

POSITION PURPOSE
- Under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, the youth apprentice observes, collaborates and/or performs various activities to support patient care in a hospital setting.

- Froedtert Kenosha Hospital
- Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Current junior or senior High School student enrolled in and participating in the Youth Apprenticeship Program
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Current BLS and/or CPR from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 6 months of employment.
SUPERVISES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to read, write, hear, and speak the English language fluently.
- The physical, technical, and cognitive ability, as well as manual dexterity, to support the Respiratory Therapist.
- Knowledge of telephone etiquette, typing, computer, copy machine and use of a fax machine.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Demonstrates competency with specific skills that are identified on the Youth Apprenticeship Therapeutic Services Pathway.
