The RT is responsible for the setup of home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and/or other related equipment. The Respiratory Therapist will also educate and train patients on the proper usage of prescribed equipment.Comprehensive benefits package with flexible options to fit individual needsAn inclusive, open, and friendly environment focused on associates and their successAmple training and development opportunities that foster personal and professional growthJob ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and provide education on home medical equipment that includes, but is not limited to CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and/or mechanical ventilatorsInspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficientlyReview prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician ordersMaintain patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standardsMaintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy conceptsWork on-call after hours and weekends as neededFrequency is determined by center size and number of employees available to shareQualifications In all states CRTs and RRTs are qualified for this positionSubject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also be qualified for this position Must remain certified, registered, or licensed by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice or as otherwise permitted by lawMust have reliable personal vehicle to visit patients throughout assigned territoryMileage reimbursement is providedMust maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance in state of residence, per company policy In-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsPhysical Demands The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
