Work Remotely:
Position Summary: Respiratory therapists assist patients who have breathing difficulties. These include chronic respiratory diseases, such as emphysema and asthma. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regimes prescribed by physicians.
- Responsible for the transcription and implementation of the written or verbal orders of a physician pertaining to the practice of Respiratory Care, proper assessment, observation and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to Respiratory Care treatments and diagnostic testing.
- Recommend and initiate appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities, implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician.
- Must have the ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures.
- Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care is delivered to achieve desired outcomes.
- Responsible for all general respiratory care duties including but not limited to administration of aerosol therapy, arterial blood draws and analysis, ECG's, pulmonary function screening, oxygen administration, and incentive spirometry.
- Intensive care experience must include arterial line management, ventilator maintenance and troubleshooting, intubation and extubating of patient
- Subject to irregular hours.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment as directed.
- Follow infection control and isolations guidelines.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
