Job Description :
$2000.00 Sign-On Bonus ($500.00 paid out after 3 months, $500.00 paid out after 6 months, and the other $1000.00 paid out after 1 year if still in the full or part-time position)Responsibilities:
  • Under the supervision and/or direction of the charge nurse performs various duties assisting in the treatment and care of patients/residents. Follows established methods and procedures of the hospital and nursing facility.
  • Assists residents in doing progressive mobility to include, but not be limited to, bed activities, sitting, transferring, standing, stair climbing, and walking as assigned by the Restorative Nurse Supervisor.
  • Provide showers and/or bed bath to assigned residents each day.
  • Assists and accompanies residents during admission, transferring, and/or discharge process.
  • Provides personal care such as bathing, dressing, and toileting as needed to each resident.
  • As directed, takes weekly and monthly weights on all residents.
  • Assists in positioning, turning, ambulating, lifting, and other needs of the resident as needed.
  • Prepares the resident for meals, distributes trays, assists or feeds residents, and removes trays. Distributes drinking water and other nourishments to resident.
  • Following facility policy performs general activities for residents in isolation.
  • Provides post mortem care if needed.
  • Rounds on assigned resident, anticipates their needs, and responds to requests.
  • Working with other assistants to ensure all resident needs are met, regardless of assignment.
  • Cares for resident clothing and personal items (glasses, dentures, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc.) from admission to discharge.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper amounts of toiletries in shower caddy including, but not limited to, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and deodorant. Ensure that caddy is clean and does not have cracks and in need of replacement. Notify ward clerk when additional supplies are needed.
  • Transports residents to and from various areas as needed.
  • Collects specimens and transports sample to appropriate areas as needed.
  • Reports any change in condition and/or behavior of the resident. Contributes verbally to the nursing care plan.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment by reporting equipment malfunction to the appropriate person.
  • Cleans equipment after use, per facility policy. Stores equipment in the appropriate location.
  • Cleans resident bed, floor, and room as needed.
  • Ensures continuity of care by giving and receiving report at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Participates in facility's performance improvements initiatives as directed.
  • Establishes and maintains good, therapeutic relationships with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Keeps current on activities of hospital/nursing facility through regular attendance of staff meetings, in-service training, and other educational programs.
  • Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy.
  • Meets requirements to maintain certification.
  • Assists in the orientation of new staff as needed.
  • Participates in committees and other activities that promote organization's mission and goals.
  • Obtain weights and vital signs as instructed by nursing.
  • Follows the restorative care plan on each resident to ensure that with assistance from other SRNAs, all tasks are completed.
  • Assists nursing staff to identify physical, psychosocial, age-specific, and cultural considerations of each patient.
  • Works with the nursing staff to provide personal care according to organizational standards and policies.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine and recording intake and output information.
  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Qualifications:
  • Active Kentucky Certified Nursing Assistant Licensure
  • BLS Certification
  • Previous experience preferred
