Job Title: Retail AgentCheck you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below.Division/Department: Rail Events Production/Front of HouseReports To: Front of House & Business ManagerType of position: Non-Exempt/HourlyEmployee Classification: SeasonalCompensation: $16.00/hourJob Summary: The Retail Agent position works with the Front of House & Business Managers, and Retail Supervisor acting as the customer service representative assisting with the execution of the retail duties associated with the event. Agent is responsible for setting the first impression of the event's retail store, so efficiency and friendliness are required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming customers as they approach the retail area and assist with any service needs
  • Ensure the retail area is kept clean and in good order
  • Acting as the point of reference for guests who need assistance or information
  • Assist with merchandising, product display and appropriate stocking of all onsite gift shop locations.
  • Ability to learn and work with the POS system (training will be provided) to complete sale
  • Works with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passenger
  • Assist in preparing store for top of day and prepped for next event day, at end of day
  • Other duties as assigned
Education, Skill & Work Experience Requirements:
  • Retail sales and customer service experience preferred
  • Be team oriented, organized and accountable
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Point of Sales systems a plus
  • Possess a well-spoken manner in personal communications
Work Environment:
  • Able to work in cold, snowy or otherwise inclement winter weather
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Varied schedule requiring evenings, weekends and overtime
  • Majority of time spent on feet
  • Workday is spent in and around active railroad yard(s)

The Polar Express Train Ride is an immersive production on a moving train that brings rewarding experiences to our employees. The Front of House team is also an integral part of providing customer service to our guests and support to cast and crew on the ground.With a total cast, crew and front of house employees of 60-75 people onsite every day and the possibility of over 2,000 guests, our days can be chaotic.
