What you'll need to have

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience in safety, security, loss prevention, and/or asset protection experience (preferably in a retail environment).

• Must have strong safety and audit background experience.

• Strong de-escalation capabilities and a keen eye to identify suspicious behavior/activity.

• Strong leadership capabilities and values that align with the IKEA values.

• A critical thinker, team player who can work well with others but is also capable of completing tasks on their own.

• Punctual and responsible.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

** Candidates in New York, Oregon, and St. Louis, MO, must be eligible to obtain a security guard license as required by applicable local law. Obtaining the security guard license is a required condition of employment for this role.

What you'll be doing day to day

• Ensures the safety and security of the people and property per local regulations.

• Completes safety, security, and compliance audits and trainings.

• Maintains critical safety equipment such as alarms, radios, and security systems.

• Reports and follows up on incidents that occur.

• Responds to and coordinates emergency situations in work areas such as burglar alarms, fire alarms, active shooter, and other emergency events.

JOB TYPE – Permanent, Full-Time

BENEFITS ELIGIBLE? Yes

HOURS – 34-40 hours per week. Must have complete open working availability from Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, as well as occasional overnight shifts.

The hourly pay range for this role is $20.65 - $29.50.
