General Purpose and Scope of Position: The Retails Store Manager (RSM) provides leadership and direction to the field sales and management team within their defined geography. The RSM offers guidance and support with product selection, pricing and forecasting as well as assisting in the overall alignment of the business with current and future agronomic trends and practices. The RSM also offers assistance with recruitment, training and performance management of the field sales force. Key Skills and Abilities include: Deep working knowledge of local agricultural crops and market practicesProvides clear direction and can motivate individuals and teamsStrong service orientation to Wilbur-Ellis customersExcellent presentation skillsProficient in working with MS Office Suite Key Personal Attributes Include: Ability to develop teams and demonstrate leadership qualitiesAbility to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders without formal authority.Commitment to performance development with direct reportsSkilled at managing multiple projectsStrong organizational skills and project planningExcellent communication skills Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include: Communicate WECO strategy and associated goals to salespeople/managers in a positive way.Offer business and agronomic support to the sales team with particular emphasis on less experienced salespeopleAssist in hiring and alignment of salespeople within geographies and customersAct as a mentor in the overall career development of new sales personnelUtilize the VIP program and Talent Gateway to establish measurable and challenging goals for sales personnel.As part of an overall performance management plan, conduct annual performance reviews and assist and advise with sales and operational team performance reviews.Suggest and coordinate effective team trainings in skill development and growth.Establish and maintain a direct relationship with key customers within the region in collaboration with the salesperson working directly with that customerIdentify potential new customers, devise a sales plan and executeAssist Customer Financial Services Manager and sales with credit issuesProvide pricing and margin guidance for the geographyGuide sales on complaint handling and overall risk managementResponsible for budgeting, forecasting, analysis and communication of the financial performance objectives for the region.Assist location in the annual budgeting processDrive customer segmentation process with follow-up guidance i.e. pricing, time spent, etc.Work with Operations Management and SME including; fertilizer, value-added nutrition, technology, branded products, seed, and Plant Protection Products (P3) purchasing to maximize sales opportunities.Assist field sales with a customer sales plan for each potential product segment: PPP, seed, nutrition, technology, and services.Regularly communicate the customer management plan including initiatives, objectives and strategies with Area management, sales, and operations.Provide leadership of the product use forecasting process for the regionCommunicate with Area Management and purchasing on product selection, pricing and overall strategy Skills and Experience Required: Experience and Education:Minimum of five years of experience in the agriculture business with a demonstrated track record in sales and marketing or location managementA bachelor's degree or higher in Agriculture or Business related field is preferred Compensation and Benefits: In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $102,800 - $144,020. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
