Job Summary:

We are seeking a Collections and Retention Specialist to manage and evaluate an existing portfolio of merchants, identify at-risk accounts, and implement retention strategies to maintain and grow business relationships. This sales-driven role focuses on generating revenue through proactive client engagement and business development strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Make outbound sales calls to high-value merchants within an existing book of business, focusing on merchants that have discontinued services or are at risk of canceling.
  • Negotiate pricing changes and coordinate the delivery of new equipment to retain business.
  • Build strong relationships with merchants during escalations to resolve issues and retain business.
  • Proactively engage inactive merchants to regain their business.
  • Provide consultative guidance on best payment processing practices based on merchant needs.
  • Identify overdue accounts and pursue collection of outstanding payments.
  • Document customer account progress using the company CRM.
  • Achieve monthly targets for collections, retention, and other key productivity metrics.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in sales or retention, with a focus on high-volume outbound calls.
  • Experience in financial services / credit card processing is strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to learn and navigate proprietary CRM systems and Google Docs.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Pay: $27 - $32 (equivalent to $50,000 - $60,000 annually).
  • Additional Compensation: +Monthly commissions.
