Position Information Working Title Retention & Student Success Coordinator Department College of Engineering-0907 Requisition Number S_241163 Posting Open Date 12/13/2024 Application Review Date: (To ensure consideration, please submit all application materials before review date) 01/06/2025 Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Description of Work Working with the Senior Director of Engineering Student Services, this position will be responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and assessing a comprehensive strategic plan for College of Engineering student success and retention efforts for both the City and Scott campuses in accordance with the College vision and mission. Will conduct research, evaluate and report on current student retention and national and peer institution data. Utilizing this data, position will provide analysis, make program recommendations and devise strategies to increase retention based on findings. This position will serve as an advocate and case manager for students of concern, advising and referring to University and community resources. This position will be responsible for providing college-level outreach to students that are identified as at-risk at any point during their academic career and has responsibilities to manage all of the programmatic logistics associated with the student success and retention. Position will serve as an Academic Advisor during peak enrollment times and provide guidance and counseling to students in matters related to academic goals, choice of curriculum, course load, study habits, and course scheduling. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business, Communication, or related field plus 2 years of experience in student affairs or related field required. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills necessary. Strong community relations essential. Proficiency in personal computer systems, utilizing databases, word processing, spreadsheets and graphics necessary. Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity regarding diverse student populations required. Must have high level of professionalism and commitment to teamwork. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one at time of hire required. Some evening and weekend work is required. Ability to travel by auto or plane necessary. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business, Communication or related field preferred. Demonstrated experience working on programs and resources that support retention and academic success of college students; particularly at-risk student populations desirable.
