Details Client NameMount Sinai Morningside Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtySICU Job ID29027178 Job TitleRN - CSICU - Contract - MSM Weekly Pay$2251.31 Shift Details ShiftNight - 11.5x3 - 07PM Scheduled Hours34 Job Order Details Start Date12/03/2024 End Date03/01/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Flexible Scheduling (3x11.50 Hr) Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-open heart and cardiac care unit experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) - New York State Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: 1 year travel experience (if applicable for travel positions) Proficiency in EPIC preferred Excellent organizational skills Job Description: - Provide safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research for a designated group of patients and their significant others.- Deliver patient care by incorporating principles of Relationship Centered Care and apply the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational nursing standards.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking in managing patient care.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.- Prioritize aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating to others appropriately.- Educate patients and caregivers, anticipating needs and readiness to learn about their care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, allocating material resources effectively.- Model tenets of Relationship Centered Care through various actions, including admission welcome, bedside shift report, and purposeful hourly rounding.- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.- Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care.- Initiate service recovery for patients and families with concerns, referring them to appropriate management or patient relations as needed.- Practice safe, efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.- Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional evidence and procedures.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute quality improvement projects and nursing research studies.- Engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, ensuring supplies and inventory meet patient care needs.- Demonstrate patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to care concerning equipment, staff, supplies, and resources.- Document accurately and thoroughly in compliance with regulatory and legal standards.- Contribute to the environment supporting clinical colleagues, patients, families, and the healthcare team.
