Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (ED) Location: New York, NY 10019 Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 11/12/2024 Shift: Night Shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM), Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required Weekly Hours: 34.5 hours (3x12-hour shifts with variable weekends) Job Description
  • We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing up to 180-200 daily visits in a 46-bed unit. This role requires a strong focus on patient assessment, critical thinking, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, triage, and administer treatments and medications as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation using EPIC software.
  • Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and manage emergency situations.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, post-care instructions, and health management.
  • Participate in service recovery efforts and uphold patient satisfaction standards.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Active New York State RN License.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification.
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with experience in an ED setting preferred.
  • EPIC experience required.
  • Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
  • The Emergency Department handles 180-200 daily visits and has 46 beds.
  • Shifts are 3x12 hours, including every other weekend (variable weekends may apply).
