JOB DESCRIPTION W Allis - ED About Facility 8901 W. Lincoln Ave, West Allis, WI 53227 Level IV Trauma Center Level III NICU Primary Stroke Center Hospital Beds: 277 General Information Beds: 20; 8 Overflow, 4 CA Chairs Will you accept a traveler with 1 year experience? RN: 2-5 yrs nursing experience, must have 1 yr ED experience within past year ED Tech: 1 yr ED experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, with 3+ years ED experience Avg patients/day: 100-200 Patient Types: Neonates to Geriatric 10%-15% pediatrics Chest pain, dizziness, syncope, strokes, sepsis, ortho, resp distress/failure, STEMI, COVID Behavioral Health-Med Clearance Patient Ratios: RN: 1:3-4 Days, 1:4-5 Nights ED Tech: 2-3 Techs/Shift, 1 Tech 0300-0900 Required Certifications: RN: Required- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; (preferred- TNCC, CPI/MOAB, CEN) ED Tech: Required- BLS Skills required RN: General ED Skills, Strong IV Skills, Cardiac rhythm interpretation/monitoring, foley placement/management, NGT placement/management, knowledgeable in STEMI/CVA/Sepsis treatments, medication titration ED Tech: Strong phlebotomy skills (required), splinting (ortho glass), perform EKGs, CS, POC testing, assist with collection specimens (stool, urine), placing patients on tele monitor, assist in turning patients (ED boarding) Education required: Support on the Unit: CNA (Ratio): Receptionist/HUC: 24/7 Charge nurse: will take a patient assignment as needed, will cover low acuity patients ED Educator: (M-F) Phlebotomy: assist with peripheral blood draws as needed IV/VAT Team: Resource Nurse: Flow Nurse- during peak hours RT: 24/7 Hospitalist/PA: 24/7 Telemetry monitoring: Bedside and at the nurses station, no tele tech Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC (required within the last 2 years) IV pumps: Alaris Medication dispensing: Pyxis Monitors: Floating: If yes, where? RN: Based on facility needs Will not take patient assignment Will work as helping hands, taskers, sitters, runners Travelers float first ED Tech: Based on Facility Needs To units as taskers, sitters Orientation: (facility and unit) 1 Shift of Orientation First couple hours meet with NM, Supervisor for NEO onboarding, remainder of shift on the unit with preceptor Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other weekend On call? If so, what is that schedule? Based on facility needs Holiday Expectations: 1 Approval of time off: Email NM Holly Evans and ANM Tanya Erke Shift times: Days: 0700-1900 1100-2300 Eves: 1500-0300 Nights 1900-0700 1900-0700 (ED Tech Only) Schedule cycle: 6 week schedule, receive 1-2 weeks in advance Other notes?
