Position: RN Infection Control / Staff Development CoordinatorLocation: Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehab, Barre, VTSchedule: Full-Time, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMStarting Pay: $42/hour, commensurate with experience

About the Role

Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Infection Control/Staff Development Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility. This dual-role position combines infection prevention expertise with staff development responsibilities, emphasizing epidemiology, public health practices, and administrative oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Development:
    • Conduct orientation for all new employees and provide ongoing training for current staff.
    • Plan and schedule in-service trainings with internal and external speakers.
    • Maintain a comprehensive training planner/schedule for all departments.
    • Ensure all mandatory annual in-services are completed.
    • Keep detailed records of all training sessions conducted.
  • Infection Control:
    • Lead efforts to prevent, investigate, monitor, and report infectious disease outbreaks within the facility.
Qualifications
  • Active RN license in the state of Vermont.
  • Prior supervisory nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention principles and public health nursing practices, with hands-on experience.
