Job Description: RN - NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)Location: New York, New YorkJob Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Cardiac NICU. This position is ideal for a nurse experienced in neonatal critical care who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The NICU RN will provide specialized care for critically ill newborns, ensuring the highest standards of care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.Roles and Responsibilities:Critical Care for Newborns: Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill neonates, including those with cardiac conditions, utilizing specialized equipment and monitoring systems.Collaborative Care: Work closely with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.Family Support and Education: Provide education and emotional support to families, keeping them informed about the care and progress of their newborns.Floating Responsibilities: Float to other NICU or related units within the hospital, as required, based on acuity and skill set.Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, adhering to hospital policies and standards.Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.Licensure and Certification:Active New York State RN license.American Heart Association (AHA) certifications: BLS and ACLS for critical care units.Experience:Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center or large academic hospital.Cardiac NICU experience is highly desirable.Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, proficiency in EMR systems, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with confidence and compassion.Schedule:Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.Call Requirement: None.Float Requirement: Yes, to units appropriate for skill set and within acuity.Why Join Us?Be part of a dedicated team in one of the nation s top children s hospitals.Work with advanced technology and resources in a state-of-the-art NICU.Competitive pay and opportunities for professional growth in a supportive and collaborative environment.Apply today to make a meaningful impact in the lives of critically ill newborns and their families!
