Details Client NameBronxCare Health System Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyPsych Job ID29353446 Job TitleRN (Registered Nurse) Weekly Pay$2387.72 Shift Details ShiftNight - 11.5x3 - 07PM Scheduled Hours34 Job Order Details Start Date12/10/2024 End Date03/11/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Psychiatric Adult Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Nights Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Psychiatric experience and 6 months of prior medical experience (e.g., Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, PCU, ICU, ER) License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: CPI preferred (training available on-site); BSN preferred Job Description: - Work in a Psychiatric Adult Unit with 26 beds.- Maintain Nurse to Patient Ratios: Nights 1:8.- Collaborate with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) who assist with safety checks, room checks, vitals, ADLs, and other duties.- Handle common diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, substance abuse, depression, borderline personality disorder, and intellectually challenged populations.- Perform IM injections and phlebotomy as necessary; no IVs on this unit.- Work alongside Charge Nurses/Assistant Nurse Care Coordinators who are available 24/7.- Utilize CPI de-escalation techniques to avoid physical restraints, rare use of 4-point leather restraints.- Manage cpap and bipap as needed and consult for higher care when necessary.- Observe every other weekend and possible holiday rotations.- Be flexible with scheduling; travelers expected to help cover staffing needs.- Wear specific scrub colors: Royal Blue for RNs.- Undergo a unit-specific orientation lasting 2-4 days with a preceptor to prepare for floating to various units.Note: This position does not guarantee block scheduling and has no on-call requirement. Travelers may be asked to float to adolescent or other adult psych units but not typically to psych emergency areas.
