The Engineering Team at Russell Tobin & Associates is supporting an exciding robotics organization that has an opening for a Robotics Lab Technician in San Francisco, CA!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lab Technician to support the daily operations of a robotics hardware lab. The role involves managing inventory, maintaining lab equipment, supporting engineers with hardware assembly, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols. This position will play a critical role in optimizing lab efficiency and supporting innovative robotics projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lab Maintenance & Organization
- Manage inventory of hardware components, equipment, and supplies, ensuring stock availability and minimizing operational disruptions.
- Facilitate lab layout optimization, cleanliness, and care for all robotics hardware.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the shipping, receiving, and organizing of hardware components.
- Hardware Assembly & Support
- Assist with assembling, disassembling, and calibrating robotics hardware.
- Perform routine maintenance checks, including battery replacements and system diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot and report any deviations in hardware and software performance.
- Test Support & Data Collection
- Assist with setting up and conducting experiments, including software, hardware, and system integration tests.
- Accurately collect and document experimental results following company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze and refine data collection processes.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a hardware lab, manufacturing environment, or technical support role.
- Familiarity with Linux terminal commands, Python, and Git for version control.
- Strong understanding of mechanical physics and power systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Experience with robotic systems, hardware troubleshooting, and lab safety compliance.
Additional Details:
- 100% onsite - 9am-5pm PST
- Contract opportunity with potential to extend/convert
