Route Driver - Spee-Dee Delivery Service : Job Details

Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for a self-motivated and customer service orientated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. As a Route Driver you would be a company representative making deliveries and picking up freight.Hours and Wages:Monday- Friday, 7:30AM- completion of route10-15 hours of overtime expected each weekVoluntary OT on weekends (as needed)Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per weekStarting wage: $20.00- $24.00 per hour, based on experienceDuties and Responsibilities:Delivers and picks up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippersInspects and report any mechanical problems with the vehicleLoads the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packagesCollects payments for certain packages deliveredVerifies the content of pickups on shipping papersNotifies management of any problems or discrepanciesMaintains professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicleAssists other drivers and operations personnel with duties, as neededExperience and Qualifications:At least 21 years of age and hold a valid Driver's LicenseA good driving record which meets company standardsAbility to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learnAbility to pass a DOT physical examAbility to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicleAbility to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 poundsAbility to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to: hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsPossess good customer service and can work independentlyBenefits:Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee-Dee Delivery Service, Inc is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
