Job Title: SACC Site Supervisor

Department: SACC

Reports to: Regional SACC Director

Location: Clubhouse or School Site

Hours & Schedule: (11 AM -7 PM) (Monday-Friday)

Salary: Starting $18-22 an hour, Full-time

Overview of Your Role

The SACC Site Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising a team of SACC Youth Development Professionals in serving students at an assigned Albany or Troy Elementary School site or BGCCA Clubhouse. The Site Supervisor's primary purpose is to plan, coordinate, and deliver a comprehensive after-school program for students that is in compliance with the provisions of the Office of Children and Family Services. In addition, this position includes preparing youth for success by developing and implementing enrichment activities that focus on academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Abides to organizational policies.
  • Abides by department policies.
  • Participates in and reinforces company culture initiatives within the department.
  • Participates in personnel management, hiring selection, job training, performance evaluation, and coaching.
  • Is eligible to be named on a SACC license.
  • Maintains relationships with school personnel and community partners.
  • Conducts day-to-day operations of their department.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Leadership & Supervision

  • Oversee, support, and manage all staff; this includes hosting weekly meetings, administering training, and record-keeping, among other managerial responsibilities.
  • Communicate with all entities involved in programming, including the school host site, Boys & Girls Club Management, and all member-related parties to ensure smooth operation.
  • Coach and train SACC YDPs to ensure their success.
  • Conduct orientation and training for newly employed SACC Youth Development Professionals (SACC YDPs).
  • Participate in the selection, hiring, and supervision of SACC YDP professionals.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual SACC YDP performance evaluations.

Program & Service Management

  • Contribute to developing new programs and curriculum to expand existing programs within BGCCA.
  • Adhere to BGCCA SACC curriculum to promote consistency in the program throughout all sites.
  • Manage accurate records of participant registration, attendance, and DSS submissions where applicable.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the parents of students.
  • Register students and market after-school programs to students and families.
  • Collect and report daily attendance.
  • Submit daily meal counts.
  • Create parent newsletters.
  • Plan and facilitate monthly family engagement events.
  • Communicate with parents and families about the program.
  • Assist in the marketing of the program to school-based participants.
  • Collect registration forms and enroll participants.
  • Complete and ensure accurate payroll records daily and adhere to payroll procedures and deadlines.
  • Communicate with the development team about specific grant requirements on a bi-weekly basis about programming.
  • Submit all required grant reports on time.

Resource Management & Planning

  • Participate in weekly or as-needed site meetings with a SACC Program Manager to ensure OCFS compliance and the success of the engaging curriculum.
  • Submit programming schedules to the Program Manager for approval.
  • Develop and utilize daily lesson plans.
  • Ensure all program rooms are cleaned and a checklist is signed at the end of each program day.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure program compliance with requirements per the grant.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all students and staff, including creating a health plan for any child needing one and competency in first aid administration.
  • Complete all required training.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned that are reasonable within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain close contact with SACC Youth Development professionals, SACC Program Manager, and other SACC Site Supervisors to ensure program success and guidance.

External: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, Food Services, development, Community Partners, and transportation services to maintain the success of daily programming.

Requirements:

CREDENTIALS, SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Supervisor capacity in a child care program or related field
  • A bachelor's or associate's degree in education, youth development, or a related field of study is preferred.
  • (And/Or) NYS Children's Program Administrator credentials.
  • (And/Or) School Age Child Care Credential (or other office-recognized credentials specific to the school-age developmental period).
  • Knowledge of program regulations and standards
  • Experience with budget management and record-keeping
  • Background check clearance
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Training
  • Principles related to the development of youth between 4 and 13 years of age
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
