You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, driving safety initiatives, and collaborating with team members at all levels to create a proactive and engaged safety mindset. You will lead efforts to identify potential hazards, implement corrective actions, and cultivate a workplace culture that prioritizes safety.· Lead, develop, and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.).· Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.· Promote and foster a culture of safety awareness through training, communication, and hands-on engagement with employees.· Develop and deliver safety training programs, including orientation for new hires, refresher courses, and targeted training for specific areas of concern.· Collaborate with department heads, supervisors, and employees to integrate safety best practices into daily operations.· Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, trends, and incidents, providing reports and recommendations to management.· Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near-misses, and incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive measures are in place.· Serve as a liaison with external regulatory agencies and contractors regarding safety compliance.· Stay current on industry safety trends, regulatory changes, and innovations to continuously improve safety standards.· Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the overall safety culture of the mill.· Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.· 3+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
