Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our production facility. As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe work environment by developing site-specific safety policies that align with corporate guidelines. You will collaborate with the maintenance, production teams, and management to review and improve safety protocols while conducting safety training to promote awareness. Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Site-Specific Safety Policies:
  • Adapt site-specific safety procedures based on corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with Teams:
  • Work with maintenance, production, and management to review and improve safety practices.
  • Conduct Safety Training:
  • Train employees on safety protocols, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
  • Safety Audits & Inspections:
  • Perform regular audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Incident Reporting & Investigation:
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain Safety Documentation:
  • Keep accurate records of safety policies, audits, and training sessions.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure the company stays up to date with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Promote Safety Culture:
  • Encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives to foster a strong safety culture.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Previous experience in safety coordination or a related role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be a substitute for formal education.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of OSHA and safety regulations
  • Ability to write clear and concise safety policies
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Languages:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.

Preferred Certifications:

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is a plus
