As we continue to expand our footprint, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Manager to establish and oversee our ramp and employee safety programs at our exciting new facility. Your Role as a Safety Manager:

Safety Compliance & Program Management

  • Ensure compliance with company-wide employee safety, ramp safety initiatives, and airline safety requirements at assigned CSCs.
  • Implement and maintain standardized Safety Management Guides and Ramp Safety Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct mock OSHA and Ramp Safety Audits to proactively identify risks and ensure readiness for official audits.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees, including driver/guide/coordinator training.
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal and external safety-related inquiries, ensuring successful resolutions to safety issues.

Incident Investigation & Risk Reduction

  • Lead accident and injury investigations, performing root cause analyses and developing strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Oversee and analyze trends in employee injuries, aircraft, auto, and property damages, implementing action plans to drive significant reductions in incidents.
  • Collaborate with airline manufacturers to design new safety-compliant ground service equipment.
  • Administer and enforce compliance with OSHA, FAA, EPA, DOT, Cal/OSHA, and airline customer safety regulations.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on ramp safety, employee safety, and airline regulatory compliance.
  • Lead cross-functional safety meetings with business partners, such as ARTEX, Continental, and UPSLT-Delta.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to CSC safety teams, ensuring customer satisfaction in airline audits.
  • Support company-sponsored initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing and process efficiency improvements.
  • Attend airline customer training sessions to obtain certifications for aircraft doors, galleys, and operational procedures.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5-7 years of experience in safety operations, aviation ground handling, or employee safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, FAA, DOT, EPA, and airline-specific safety regulations.
  • Experience managing relationships with airline security personnel, airport authorities, and federal/state law enforcement agencies.
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations, collect evidence, and collaborate with legal counsel as needed.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to train and influence management at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other safety-related reporting systems.
  • Aviation security experience and familiarity with the Circle of Safety and ground handling safety terminology is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Aviation Ground Safety, or a related field preferred.
