Job Title: Safety Manager - Transportation (Airport Project) Location: Santa Ana, CA Position Overview: We are seeking a Safety Manager - Transportation to oversee safety initiatives on a major airport project in Santa Ana, CA. This role requires a proactive, hands-on leader who will ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, drive safety programs, and promote a zero-incident work environment. The position involves frequent travel to various job sites within the region to enforce safety policies and mentor employees. Their expert team values collaboration, precision, and efficiency to ensure successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enforce safety programs for a high-profile airport construction project.
- Champion and promote a strong safety culture through training, mentorship, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, and state safety regulations related to transportation and aviation projects.
- Conduct site safety audits, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Investigate and analyze incidents, perform Root Cause Analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), risk assessments, and site-specific safety plans.
- Collaborate with Project Teams to ensure all work is executed with safety first.
- Maintain and track safety documentation, compliance reports, and training records.
- Facilitate Craft Voice in Safety (CVIS) meetings and track safety improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor field supervisors and employees on best airport construction safety practices.
- Review subcontractor safety programs to ensure they meet or exceed airport project requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of construction safety management experience, with a preference for transportation or aviation projects.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) preferred.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or OSHA 500 certifications preferred.
- First Aid & CPR training preferred.
- Experience with safety regulations in airport construction environments.
- Strong leadership and ability to influence safety culture.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and digital safety reporting tools.
- Must be willing to travel to multiple job sites.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $90,000 - $135,000, depending on experience
