Safety Manager - G2 Secure Staff : Job Details

G2 Secure Staff is expanding and looking to add a Safety Manager for operations in LaGuardia Airport (LGA). The Safety Manager provides guidance and direction for the planning, implementation and on-going evaluation of safety policies and procedures to provide a safe working environment for employees. Serves as a local safety advocate engaging local employees in the Safety Program to work towards achieving continuous improvement and expense reduction.

What does a Safety Manager do?

• Perform safety compliance observations, administering coaching and follow-up activities to ensure employees adhere to all safety standard operating procedures, and implementing new and/or modified safety policies/procedures.
• Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Implement safety plan for station
• Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to performance and safety, providing suitable corrective and/or preventative actions where necessary
• Coordinates closely with G2 Secure Staff's corporate safety, compliance and operations teams to share observations, trends and recommendations for evaluation in the planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures aimed at achieving continuous improvement in safety performance.
• Treat all information as confidential.
• Previous experience communicating with all levels of situations, customers, and employees.
• Implement safety plan for station.
• Coordinate and oversee monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to performance and safety, providing suitable corrective and/or preventative actions where necessary.
• Strong diplomacy and relationship building skills. Able to influence others positively.
• Must be able to work all shifts and all days of week (schedule will rotate).
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
• Must be able to sit, stand, lift and/or bend throughout the shift.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 50 lbs.
• Limited travel may be required.
• Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge.
• Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
• Perform other duties as requested.

What skills are required to Join the Team?

• Must be 18 years or older
• Bachelor's Degree is required or equivalent job experience
• Two (2) years of work experience in a safety role in an operational environment (airport/aviation related is preferred, but not required)
• Proven record of continuous improvement with accomplishments to support success
• Proven success in implementing safety procedures and best practices, and monitoring compliance
• Experience successfully implementing federal/state/local safety regulations and maintaining compliance
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agency standards
• Strong leadership and proactive problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated organizational and prioritization abilities
• Ability to analyze various types of data and produce reports for senior management
• Demonstrated presentation, training and facilitation skills
• Must have a reliable mode of communication and transportation
