PURPOSE OF POSITION: Implement and maintain the Fire Safety program within the confines of Kings County Hospital Center.
- Identify and control fire/ life safety hazards (building inspection)
- Conduct fire drill
- Conduct training sessions/orientation for employee.
- Maintain records of fires, false alarms, fire drills, inspection of fire extinguisher.
- Conduct hazard surveillance rounds to identify deficiencies.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with the mission of the Safety Management Program.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: It is the responsibility of the Fire Marshals to implement and maintain Kings County Hospital Center Fire Safety program. They monitor and evaluate compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations regarding fire and life safety and maintain a high level of readiness and response to fire emergency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting agency and four (4) years of general experience in safety and accident prevention work, one (1) year of which must have involved responsibility for the conduct of an organized safety and accident prevention program.
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience
- NYC Fire Department Certificate of Fitness.
