Job DescriptionSUMMARY:The Safety Specialist will support the Risk and Safety function by helping manage and mitigate risk to Horseshoe Baltimore. JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure OSHA, regulatory, Labor, and legal rules/laws are followed at the property as it pertains to Safety and Workman's compensation.
- Ensure all needed inspections are performed on property as well as coordination with Fire Marshall, OSHA representatives, Regulatory bodies.
- Work with all Departments to ensure their work environment is safe and up to requirements as well as ensuring safety policies are documented and followed.
- Coordinate and implement safety and loss prevention programs including compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act standards, safety training, safety committee meetings, safety bulletin boards, safety recognition programs, etc.
- Maintain certificates of insurance.
- Assist in Motor Vehicle Record checks
- Maintain and update Department records and prepare required reports for governmental agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources.
- 2+ years' experience in the Safety, Risk Management, Insurance, or Human Resources
- Must have excellent Excel, Access Database, Word and other reporting skills
- Must be proficient in Power Point Presentation software.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $50,000 - $60,000
