Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily:
- Team member must be able to work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, PTB process, Behavior Base Safety process, and compliance with all company, site safety guidelines, and procedures.
- Identify hazardous conditions and practices. Identify potential hazards in existing equipment, machinery, facilities, or processes. Develop methods to predict hazards from experience, historical data, and other information sources
- Develop and help enforce a plan to eliminate hazards, conducting training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers on health and safety practices and regulations as necessary
- Administer new hire orientation, OSHA 10-hour, weekly safety training/meetings, and classroom/field equipment training.
- Provide training and information to supervisors & employees on safety issues.
- Inspect machinery and equipment, such as lifting devices, machine guards, or scaffolding to ensure they meet appropriate safety regulations
- Monitor that personal protective equipment is being used in workplaces according to regulations.
- Monitor that dangerous materials are stored correctly and in structurally sound containers.
- Test and identify work areas for potential accident and health hazards such as toxic fumes and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement appropriate control measures such as adjustments to ventilation systems
- Communicate with workers and observe their work, as well as inspect the elements of their work environment, such as lighting, tools, and equipment
- Assist the Safety Manager or complete all minor or major incidents that occur; investigate unsafe working conditions, study possible causes, and make recommendations. Based on findings ensure follow-up actions are taken to prevent re-occurrences by using the method of “Root Cause Analysis”.
- Participate in RCA/ incident reviews with customers.
- Analyze data and prepare reports for Health and Safety Metrics to include Site Scorecard, Observations, & Behaviors. Use the data to provide information for Leading & Lagging Indicator Reports.
- Develop occupational health and safety systems; including policies, procedures, and manuals
- Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures, recommending corrective actions, and maintaining/availability of safety equipment supplies.
- Perform daily plant wide safety reviews (Behavior Base Safety Observations). Counsel employees that do not meet expectations to ensure that they understand the importance of working safely.
- Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers health and safety
- Must maintain a consistent and good attendance record in accordance with Company policy
- Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.
- Manage the site mentoring program.
- Able to travel & support other sites.
- Able to be part of the on-call rotation for safety issues
- Employee will perform any and all other relevant duties assigned by the Safety Manager.
- Communication with all team members to support the development of short- and long-range planning in support of the company's goals and objectives

- Train site employees to the safety training and education programs; demonstrate the use of safety equipment
- Facilitates new employee health and safety orientations and manages/develops the material for these training classes
- Has the ability to fill in for the Safety Manager in times of need; Consultation with customer, physicians, work comp personnel & legal may be required
- Prepare and calibrate monitoring equipment in order to measure and control hazardous substances, or conditions such as noise or radiation levels

- Experience: 3 years of experience in safety, industrial field, or related area as a Safety Professional.
- Required Education: Possess a high school diploma or a certified GED. Possess a 30-hour certification in general industry. Possess an Associate Degree in Safety or 5 total years of experience in the safety field without a degree.
- Preferred Education: 511 & 501 NSC General Industry- to train 10- & 30-hour OSHA, 132-hour Occupational Safety & Health Professional, NSC Advanced Safety Certificate Program, NSC Specialist in Safety & Health (SSH-G) General Industry, NSC Certified Safety & Health Official (CSHO-G) General Industry
- Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Additional Skills: Good facilitator skills with strong interpersonal skills. Effectively work with all levels of the organization. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize and multitask
