Safety Supervisor
Job Description
The Safety Supervisor will ensure BETCO Scaffolds safety culture.
The Safety Supervisor will recommend strategic direction and implement plans based on safety audit results and will ensure that our policies and programs meet all legislated requirements. Responsibilities will include training employees in safety best practices, assisting with hazard identification and the development of safety work procedures, identify, developing and delivering safety training, providing day-to-day guidance and advice. The Safety Supervisor will also be responsible for providing field support for the safety requirements of significant projects.
Responsibilities: •Responsible for the health, safety and environment program in our operations across multiple locations in the Texas area. •Ensures performance assessments and development programs are in place •Supports the development, maintenance, implementation & improvement of the health, safety, and environment management system. •Provide necessary training, leadership, organization and control to meet BETCO Scaffolds goal of zero incidents. •Assesses specific HSE risks and defines the HSE plans, standards, procedures, metrics and accountability systems required as per BETCO Scaffolds policies, client requirements and legislation. Tracks compliance to ensure optimum minimization of risk. •Develops and maintains Managers awareness and ensures that HSE is an integral part of Project Management responsibilities and objectives. Advises Management on HSE communication, visibility and corrective action required. •Provides planning, coordination, communication and active and visible support and delivery assurance for the HSE Systems including status, results, follow-up, and actions. •Monitors HSE Compliance, Performance, Efficiency and Trends. •Ensures effective incident/near miss investigations, including but not limited to, root cause identification and effective closure. •Monitors and analyzes HSE leading/lagging indicators, results, trends and performance indicators; ensuring remedial work plans address negative trends. •Provides input to define and support the implementation of project workflows that streamline and simplify Project Management processes. •Assists the project team in the preparation of risk assessments. •Identify and facilitate training and development requirements. •Liaises with customers, Direct Service Providers, and regulatory bodies. Keeps informed of any new development or policy related to HSE and informs Management accordingly.
Qualifications: •Experience in research, analysis, interpretation and implementation of safety regulations, standards and best practices as they pertain to BETCO Scaffolds operations. •Understand and have extensive knowledge of Federal & State regulations pertaining to construction and light industrial-operation safety issues. •Advanced knowledge of assessing training needs, creating training materials and delivering the training. •Ability to create high quality presentations. •Demonstrated ability to train, coach, evaluate and improve others. •Motivated, energetic, goal-orientated, and positive outlook is essential. •Strong time management and prioritization skills. •Strong sense of professionalism and diplomacy. •Strong attention to detail. •Able to build and maintain effective relationships with all departments. •Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. • Strong credentials from a recognized national certification program (OSHA 30 certification in Construction is preferred).
Professional Experience: • A minimum 3 years of field level experience in safety inspection, quality, risk management and compliance in the construction and light industrial area.
Maintain a valid driver's license
