Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Safety Technician to join their team on our contract basis across the USA. Our client is a leader in the renewable energy sector, specializing in comprehensive project capabilities including Project Feasibility, Engineering & Design, Energy Modeling, Pre-Construction, Supply Chain Procurement, Self-Perform Construction, Power Delivery, and O&M Services. We are looking to fill roles in MO, IN, & CO.

Responsibilities

This role requires a professional who will be committed to ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations with at least 80% of their time spent on field inspections. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of OSHA standards and other relevant safety agencies, including ANSI, NIOSH, and AWEA.

  • Field Safety Audits: Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Accident & Incident Management: Perform investigations and reporting of accidents and incidents.
  • Documentation & Training: Assist in collecting documentation in the field and support training functions.
  • Non-Conformance Investigations: Investigate safety non-conformance issues and identify root causes.
  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with federal, state, company, and site-specific safety policies.
  • Tool & Equipment Inspections: Perform monthly and quarterly inspections on tools and safety equipment.
  • Effective Communication: Present safety information effectively in front of large groups.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and suggest resolutions to safety issues promptly.
  • Multitasking: Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in construction/Solar Farm energy safety.
  • Preferred Experience: Construction of renewable power plants, conventional power plants, HV Substations, and HV T-lines.
  • Certifications: Preferred CHST, OSHA 30, OSHA 510 Safety Certification, and current CPR/FA.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Effective oral and written communication skills. Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to pass physical exams, including pre-employment and as required by the company. Capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and carrying up to 50 lbs. Ability to work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
  • Safety Requirements: Compliance with drug and alcohol policies, job site safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, appropriate safety equipment), and ability to work while wearing personal protective equipment.

Skills

- Proficiency in construction site safety practices

- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance management

- Strong understanding of risk management principles

- Familiarity with EHS standards and occupational health guidelines

- Ability to build strong relationships with employees and management

- Experience in construction management software is a plus
