Job Description:
Assists in the administration and overall supervision of project safety and accident and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Functional Requirements:
* Conducts regular walk-through inspections of pipe fabrication facilities.Identifies, documents; recommends resolutions of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follows through to ensure that corrections have been made.
* Documents and investigates all accidents, safety violations and other unsafe conditions or activities.
* Compiles data, photographs, etc.; prepares pertinent forms/reports according to corporate procedures & federal, state, and local regulations associated with accidents.
* Issues various entry permits (i.e., to confined spaces) as required.
* Assists in emergency rescues as required.
* Assists in maintaining fire protection and grounding systems.
* Assists in controlling hazardous working conditions/unsafe employee activities through interfacing with management/supervisory personnel.
* Participates in developing and conducting personnel safety training programs.
* Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Qualification Standards:
* Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
* Certification in OSHA or other safety standards
* Proficiency in safety software and databases
* OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification
* First Aid/CPR/AED certification
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
* Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience
* Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
* Hazard Communication orientation/test
* Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
* OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
* Job site orientation
* Job site safety requirements (long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.) and Safety PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
* Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others at the workplace
Physical Involvement:
May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; typing / data entry; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment

Work Environment Factors:
* Location: pipe fabrication shop
* Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas.
* Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc; potential exposure to chemical substances
Miscellaneous Requirements:
