Crown Recruiting is excited to partner with an ag cooperative in the Norway, KS area to bring on a dynamic Sales Agronomist to take over an existing territory. The Sales Agronomist will be responsible for driving sales, providing expert agronomy advice, and supporting local farmers with cutting-edge products and solutions. With 3-5 years of experience, the ideal candidate will hit the ground running by managing established accounts while fostering new relationships and growth opportunities. This role offers the chance to take over an existing territory with ready-made accounts, enjoy dynamic work by selling in the winter months and providing vital support during the summer, and stay ahead of the curve by keeping up-to-date on agronomy advancements, new technologies, and safety regulations.

Sales Agronomist Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Growers: Advise farmers on fertilizer, seed, and chemical plans, while providing accurate estimates and pricing for cooperative services.
  • Field Expertise: Conduct field scouting, identify pests, and recommend effective control solutions, leveraging your knowledge of chemical and fertilizer applications.
  • Seed Sales Growth: Collaborate with seed representatives to manage and expand your sales territory, delivering products in-season to maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Sales & Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement targeted sales and marketing plans with management input. Identify potential customers and initiate cold calls to expand your reach.
  • Pricing Leadership: Set competitive pricing for direct-to-farm sales and contribute to company-wide pricing strategies for chemicals and fertilizers.
  • Stay Industry-Savvy: Continuously update your knowledge of agronomy, technology, and safety regulations to stay ahead in the industry.
  • Team Player: Collaborate with other locations to meet company objectives, assist in other departments as needed, and help maintain equipment for smooth operations.

Sales Agronomist Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license & willingness to travel within territory
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in sales within ag industry
  • Strong knowledge of agronomic practices, crop production, & ag technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required & ability to learn/use Ag software
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • CCA is a plus!
