**Job Description**

**Overview**

* Selling: Sets standard of excellence by being friendly and helpful and treating each customer with respect. Utilizes 5 step selling technique: greet customer, qualify customer, add on merchandise to sale, overcome objections and close sale.

* Service Excellence: IU Health is committed to a standard of service that is defined by Service Excellence behaviors and the IU Health Team Expectations system. Employees are accountable to support and maintain these service standards and behaviors set for all employees and to department specific standards. This can be done through answering the phone and providing valuable information to visitors.

* Cash Register Operation: Operates and maintains the cash register and ensures cash drawer safety. Receives money from customers which may include credit card transactions, crimson card, and payroll deductions.

* Stocking: Processes merchandise by checking in shipments, pricing and displaying. Maintains and fills stock displays by keeping them clean, orderly, and neat. Stores inventory in stock room and is responsible for maintaining and coordinating the stock room.

**Schedule Information/Requirements**

* 0 24 hours per week

* One weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) required

Requires good math and reading skills.

Requires ability to carry stock items from store room to sales area.

Requires good customer service skills.

Requires ability to communicate clearly with customers.

Requires bending; and the ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Requires ability to give directions and general information to visitors; as requested.

Requires ability to work flexible hours to meet staffing needs.
